Notes from the Village Newsletter 5

Earn That Trust

Thank you, Village! I asked what it would take to earn your trust and be worth paying for. You didn’t hold back.

  • You won’t sell it
  • It’s mine to take anytime
  • Let’s me put in my own data
  • Helps me coordinate care without undue burden
  • Reduces endless intake forms
  • I can see public demonstrations of product in use
  • All my data from the past 22 years is accessible

You can find the verbatim responses here. These responses show me that TMOH is on the right track.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we’ve been working with our attorney on the Operating Agreement. An operating agreement is a legal document that sets out the company’s values, who runs the company and how, who decides and who gets to vote on what, and who owns the company.

In this process, I’m learning about the intersection of legal rights, risks, and plain language. I question the idea that Terms and Conditions (what you agree to when you use an app or a service) need to be dense and boring. They should be readable and understandable.

What experience have you had with Terms and Conditions written in plain language? Click here to share good examples and your thoughts.

Onward, Danny
