What does “trust” mean?

Last week, I attended the DCI Network Conference with researchers, policymakers, developers, and people with lived experience. I heard buzzwords like “trust,” “engagement,” and “collaboration” used widely without bones, muscles, a destination, or a business plan. No depth, mechanism, or specificity — just words floating around tech.

Well, that’s unfair. Presenters with lived experience bared their hearts and championed solving specific tasks to achieve specific results at specific moments. They described moving through a swamp of fear, distrust, and loneliness while juggling caring and solving.
I spoke about TrustMyOwn.Health (TMOH), an innovative health data vault company committed to building and sustaining individual data owner control and trust. I discovered several potential partners with whom I would explore building relationships. You can find the 10-minute video at https://TrustMyOwn.Health.
I started this newsletter to build community. My superpower is networking to get things done. I’m about the village. As you’ll see, our website is bare-bones, our channels are forming. Let’s listen together to what’s needed, what’s been tried, and what didn’t work. I’ll provide a peek behind our process curtain.
Notes from the Village is published by TrustMyOwn.Health and reports on the project to build your personal health data vault. It’s not a report on what’s inside anyone’s vault; it’s about how we’re building the village around it. Reach me at info@trustmyown.health.
Onward, Danny
